The true counterparts to the RDF's Veritechs, the Gnerls are the aerospace
fighters of the Zentraedi warmachine. They are the preferred combatants in space engagements,
used in both defense of the fleet and in assaults against enemy positions. Gnerls are also
greatly used to support other Zentraedi mecha such as Regult Battlepods, first covering the
descent of their transports into orbit and then following them into the atmosphere to provide
air support on the battlefield. During the re-capture attempts against the SDF-1, the Gnerl
was not widely used, which is fortunate as the ship outclasses the VF-1 Valkyrie in every
way except versatility. The fighter is very fast, and primarily uses a trio of particle beam
mounts facing forward. A substantial secondary bay can also be loaded with potent medium range
missiles. The Gnerl comes in three different varieties, with only minor changes between them.
The first model is the most widely seen, and is the preferred by most pilots.
