The Mollusk Transport is a FTL-capable supplement to the standard Invid forces,
whether they be the Space Hives of the Regess or the conventional warships of the Regent. Each Mollusk
is fairly small and unarmed, however once open it can deploy an amazing amount of fighter craft in
only a short period of time. The amount of craft employed by the Invid exceeds even the high
numbers of the Zentraedi. Each craft further, typically an Iigaa Scout or Boosted-scout, is considered expendable
moreso than any other craft due to their number and the undeveloped nature of their Stage 1 Invid
pilots. During the attempts to liberate Earth from the first Invid invasion, dozens of these vessels
materialised around the REF fleet which had previously own encountered mecha rising from the surface.
Instead they were suddenly set-upon by hundreds of attack craft, many of which resorted to suicidal ramming
attacks. Theses massed mecha-launches were the reason many of these early attempts failed. The best
counter to the Mollusk is to destroy it before it can launch its mecha, but such tactics are more easily
said than done.
